José Antonio Vidal

Creator of elite professional networks for the development of international tourism and gastronomic projects at institutional, business, and social levels.
With 15 years of experience in the sector, he is the Founder, President, and CEO of the Global Wine Tourism Organization (GWTO-OMET), and of the Spanish Wine Tourism Association (AEE-Enoturismo de España), awarded the National Wine Tourism Prize (Spain) and the Ibero-American “Excelencias” Award for Tourism and Gastronomy Projects.
Previously, he developed his professional career in Los Angeles, Cambridge, Paris, Cancún, the Balearic Islands, and Madrid, holding positions of international responsibility in the banking sector (international operations management) and the tourism sector (institutional and hospitality).
He was responsible for the international promotion of the State Tourism Product “El Legado Andalusí”, in coordination with His Majesty the King of Spain, the Minister of Tourism and Trade (Turespaña National Tourism Offices network), the Minister of Culture, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Embassy network).
He was also responsible for the international promotion of the Alpine Ski World Cup (Sierra Nevada, Granada, Spain).
Director and lecturer of the Responsible Wine Tourism Management module within the “VitEno” Master’s program at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM, School of Agricultural Engineers). Professor of Strategic Planning and Comprehensive Customer Service in the “Hotel Management Master’s Program” at the former European School of Communication and Marketing (Madrid).
Member of several commissions and organizations, including: Tourism (Spanish Chamber of Commerce); the National Board of Spanish Gastronomy (ICEX, Spanish Ministry of Trade); the World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training (AMFORHT, Paris); Wine Tourism for the Spanish Tourism Quality Certification (ICTE, Spanish Ministry of Tourism); and the Professional Qualification Committee for Wine Tourism Guides (INCUAL, Spanish Ministry of Education).
As CEO of EuroEvents OPC, he co-organized the “International Tributes to Universal Spaniards” series, attended in person by leading international political, business, cultural, and social authorities. Honorees included Camilo José Cela, Plácido Domingo, Federico Mayor Zaragoza, Julio Iglesias, Miguel Induráin, José Lladró, Antonio Lamela, Rafael Nadal, and Valentín Fuster, among others.
Jury member for several Spanish wine tourism awards, including “Mercados del Vino”, “Virtus”, “Fibega”, and “Wine&Tourism” by the Spanish Association of Wine Journalists and Writers.
MBA, with academic background in Law, Tourism Business, and Tourism Marketing.
