Luís Sequeira holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD in Management. He began his professional career in 1993 as General Director of the Adega Cooperativa da Covilhã. He later held commercial and marketing leadership roles at the Port wine company Cálem, further strengthening his experience in the sector.

In 2001, he joined The Fladgate Partnership — one of the main operators in the Port wine industry — where he went on to hold several leadership positions, including board member from 2009 and General Director of the wine division. He also created distribution companies from scratch.

Alongside his business activity, he has developed an academic career as a lecturer at Porto Business School, the Instituto Superior de Gestão (ISG), and the Catholic University of Porto. He has also had relevant associative involvement, notably as a board member of the Port Wine Companies Association.

In 2025, he was unanimously elected President of CVRA.
