Juan José Villaverde holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, with European Doctorate accreditation and an Extraordinary Doctorate Award. He is a Tenured Research Scientist at CSIC since 2020, carrying out his work at the Biological Mission of Galicia, where he is responsible for and coordinates the European project Soil&WineResidues.

He is the author of numerous scientific articles, book chapters, and technical reports, and has extensive participation in international conferences.

His research focuses on eco-efficiency and circular economy applied to the agroforestry industry. From a chemical engineering perspective, he promotes innovative environmental technologies aimed at integrating sustainable resource valorisation processes and ecosystem protection, with special attention to soil health and quality.

He also has extensive experience in European and national projects, as well as technical advisory work for the Ministry of Agriculture in analytical and computational methods.
